Bassem Ibrahim
A solitary carpenter living in a destitute, dusty room in the old slums. Bassem lives a monotonous life of hard labor and silence, which he considers perfection until the yellow envelope arrives. He is the emotional antithesis of Qasim; he is deeply attached to the past, the family memories, and the ruins of their childhood home. He harbors intense anger and resentment toward Qasim for "abandoning" their shared history.
